چکیده

The phenolic compounds in eggplant offer potential natural antioxidants for improved health. A large number of samples were examined order to find germplasm with a high health promotion. genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated variations total content (TPC) and antioxidant activity eggplants, including ABTS (2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)) scavenging ferric reducing power (FRAP). TPC values varied from 14.19 842.90 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/100 g dry weight fruit powder. showed strong positive correlation both FRAP (r = 0.89 *** 0.77 ***, respectively). GWAS identified 20 SNPs that significantly out 29,183 SNPs. Out the significant SNPs, 11 associations TPC, 4 activity, 5 FRAP. Among one SNP found on each Chromosomes 3, 4, 7, 12. In contrast, Chromosome comprised two TPC. Furthermore, gene encoding IRX12 laccase-4 10 contain five Four linked 1 (1 SNP), (2 SNPs), SNP) be related activity. will further as markers selecting desirable varieties exploring links between candidate genes, content, findings this could assist development eggplants advantages through targeted breeding.

Antioxidant properties and Flavonoids-Phenolic content of citrullus colocynthis (L.) schrad growing in Khuzestan, Iran

Introduction: Free radicals cause several human diseases. Antioxidants decrease the risk of cardiovascular diseases and heart attack, and prevent the development of cancers through neutralization of free radicals. This study set out to determine the antioxidative properties of Citrullus colocynthis growing in Khuzestan. This plant is traditionally used for the treatment of type II diabetes. ...

Unveiling the genetic loci for a panicle developmental trait using genome-wide association study in rice

Panicle size has a high correlation with grain yield in rice. There is a bottleneck to identify the additional quantitative trait loci (QTL) for panicle size due to the conventional traits used for QTL mapping. To identify more genetic loci for panicle size, a panicle developmental trait (LNTB, the length from panicle neck-knot to the first primary branch in the rachis) related to panicle size ...

Genome-Wide Association Study of Seedling Characteristics in Bread Wheat Cultivars Under Normal and Salt Stress Conditions

In order to identify loci controlling seedling morpho-physiologic characteristics in 88 bread wheat cultivars, a greenhouse experiment based on simple alpha lattice was conducted under both normal and 120 mM (12 ds/m) salt stress condition of the Faculty of Agriculture, Urmia University in 2020-2021 cropping season. Chlorophyll a, b and carotenoid content, proline, plant fresh and dry weight, p...

Study of Total Phenolic and Flavonoid Content, Antioxidant Activity and Antimicrobial Properties of Medicinal Plants

The anti-oxidant activity and total phenolic content of alcoholic extracts from seven medicinal plants (Asparagus racemosus, Ocimum sanctum, Cassia fistula, Piper betel, Citrus aurantifolia, Catharanthus roseus, and Polyalthia longifolia) were evaluated by using a model system consisting of β-carotene, DPPH free radical and Folin-Ciocalteu method. The total Phenolic content of the extracts was ...

Antioxidant Activities and Phenolic Content of Juniperus excelsa Extract

Butyl-hydroxytoluene (BHT) is one of the major synthetic antioxidants with a wide range usage. Replacement of artificial antioxidants with natural antioxidants is highly considered. In this research, the antioxidant activity of Juniperus excelsa was investigated by using reducing power, DPPH radical scavenging and inhibition of lipid peroxidation. Also, the amounts of phenolic an...
